Bathtime Bliss and Carpet Catastrophes: A Day in the Life of a Working Mum

After Friday’s fun run, my little one was filthy but utterly exhausted, so we opted for a morning bath instead of the usual evening routine. He loves these leisurely baths because he and the Menace can stew in their own filth for ages without any rush. It was all going well; everyone scrubbed nice and clean—until, of course, the Menace couldn't leave things there.

With her signature flair for chaos, she wandered into her brother's bedroom, plonked herself down, and proceeded to poo on the carpet. As if that wasn't enough, she attempted to pick it up herself—but luckily, I managed to intervene just in time. She looked up at me, mischief sparkling in her eyes, and uttered a gleeful "mwah ha ha." Ah, the glamour of motherhood!

Somehow, amidst the madness, I managed to get through my workday. Between cleaning up chaos, I cleared a client’s inbox, scheduled social media posts, and kept everything ticking along smoothly. It’s moments like these that remind me how much juggling there is—parenting, work, life—but somehow, it all gets done.

The flexibility of being self-employed lets me navigate the unpredictable, like intercepting carpet catastrophes, while still keeping on top of the daily business essentials.
